About 911VoIP.org

911VoIP.org was originally developed by four Texas 9-1-1 agencies who recognized the importance of educating the public on the potential limitations of VoIP when making calls to 9-1-1. This group's commitment to public education regarding VoIP phones is best summed up in their campaign's mission statement (at right).

The contributing agencies to this public education campaign are the Denco Area 9-1-1 District, Greater Harris County 911 District, North Central Texas Council of Governments, and Tarrant County 9-1-1 District.

NENA obtained and licensed 911VoIP.org in April 2006. NENA continues the work started by these agencies in a continuing effort to fulfil the site's mission.
